Sell & Transition
Before You Can Move Into Your New Multigenerational Home, Someone Has to Sell First
Combining households is one of the most meaningful decisions a family can make. It’s also one of the most logistically complex. Before you can move into your new multigenerational home, someone — sometimes everyone — has to sell first.
At MultiGen Living Group, we handle the sale side of this transition with the same intentionality we bring to the purchase. Whether it’s a parent selling the home they’ve lived in for decades, an adult child selling their first property, or two households each selling independently before buying together — we understand what’s at stake and what needs to happen in the right order.
This is not just a listing. It’s a transition. And we treat it that way.
Who we help
Every Family’s Transition Looks Different
01
Parents Selling to Move Closer
A parent whose home no longer fits the next chapter — too large, too expensive to maintain alone, or simply in the wrong place now that family is the priority. We manage the sale so the focus can stay on what comes next.
02
Adult Children Selling to Combine
An adult child selling their existing home to purchase a multigenerational property with their parents. The timing matters. The proceeds matter. We navigate both.
03
Both Households Selling Simultaneously
Two families each selling their existing homes before purchasing together. The most complex version of this transition — and the one where having a single point of coordination matters most. We’ve done it. We know how to sequence it.
04
Out-of-State Owners
A parent or family member who owns a Florida home and needs to sell it as part of a relocation or household combination. We manage the entire process remotely — from preparation through closing — with full communication throughout.
What we include
Every Listing Includes This — At Our Expense
For a home that needs to sell in the context of a larger family transition, presentation quality directly affects outcome. A well-presented home sells faster and commands stronger offers. These are not optional upgrades — they are standard on every listing we represent.
Professional Photography
High-quality photography that presents every space with clarity and intention — including the suite or guest quarters that matter most to the right buyer.
Detailed Floorplans
Accurate floorplan documentation that clearly communicates how the home is laid out — especially the separation between living spaces that multigenerational buyers are specifically looking for.
3D Matterport Tour
A fully navigable virtual tour that lets buyers explore the home remotely — particularly valuable for out-of-state buyers and families comparing multiple properties.
We don’t cut corners on the assets that drive buyer decisions.
The Process
Every transition is different. Our framework remains consistent and deliberate.
Initial Consultation
We assess the property, understand the family’s goals, and map out any logistical complexities involved — particularly for out-of-state owners or families managing simultaneous sales.
Clear Preparation Plan
We outline recommended cleanout, repair, and presentation steps and introduce you to trusted local professionals as needed. You approve the scope of work. Vendors bill you directly — ensuring full transparency and no markups.
Centralized Coordination
We serve as your single point of contact throughout the preparation phase. Vendor scheduling, communication, and oversight are managed within one structured plan — reducing the burden on you.
Strategic Marketing Execution
Once prepared, the property is professionally presented. All listings include professional photography, floorplans, and 3D Matterport tours — provided at our expense.
Negotiation & Closing
We manage offers, contracts, and communication through closing. Our compensation is earned at closing — aligning our interests directly with yours.
The timing conversation
We Can’t Promise Timelines — But We Think About Them Constantly
We can’t guarantee how real estate timelines unfold — no agent can. But we can tell you that coordinating the sale of an existing home with the purchase of a new multigenerational home is something we think about with every client. We’ve helped families sequence these transitions successfully. We communicate clearly about where things stand, what the risks are, and how to position for the best possible outcome.
The goal is to move once, not twice. We work toward that with every family we represent.
